One man was shot and killed and another wounded early Sunday outside of a borough bar, authorities say.

The shooting was reported around 1:59 a.m. outside Super Discount Liquors, a bar and package goods store, on East Main Street.

The dead man is a 29-year-old resident of Salem City. The injured man, also 29, is from Paulsboro and suffered what authorities are saying are non-life threatening injuries.

The victims’ names were not immediately released.

Authorities are expected to release more details in the case later Sunday. Early on Sunday, authorities said that no suspect or suspects were in custody and the public is being asked to provide any information they have.

The Penns Grove Police Department is being aided in the investigation by the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office.

Anyone with information is being asked to all Penns Grove Police Department detectives at 856-299-0304.

It was outside the same bar where this weekend’s shooting took place, formerly known by the name the R&R, that a man was shot and wounded in February 2016.

Last fall, police were called to break up a fight that they estimated involved between 100 and 150 people in the street outside the bar. Arrests were made in that case.
