“Since the very beginning of attempting this recovery journey, I always heard people talk about “rock bottom”. It wasn’t til I woke up one morning, only 19 years old, unsure of where I was going to lay my head that night. For me, rock bottom isn’t a place, it’s a feeling. That emptiness and that consequence was the motivation I needed to make a change.
My name is Justin Wroblewski and I have not had a drink or a drug since August 12, 2013. Growing up in Blackwood, NJ, I had a great childhood. I had a nice home, parents and family who would do anything for me at any time. Using was never part of the plan. My journey starts with a prescription from a sports injury, changes at my rock bottom, and still continues today in my passion for helping others on a daily basis.”
Spot It! “Are you missing the signs?”
This presentation gives an overview of risk and protective factors that contribute to alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. Participants will also see the many ways in which teens may be able to use and store these substances discretely in school settings.
Naloxone is a drug that can be administered to prevent death in the case of opiate overdose. While not considered a treatment for substance use disorders, Naloxone has saved countless lives, providing hope for many. The first 20 registrants in this workshop will receive a free Naloxone Response Kit.
“Escape The Myths of Substance Abuse”
This hands-on drug education/ team building activity was designed for youth to better understand the short and long term effects of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use. Participants will be able to preview the escape room and obtain information on bringing this informative bonding experience to their school or team.
