State police identified the motorcyclist killed during a collision on Route 49 as Jack Hash, 50, of Linden, Union County.
The accident occurred in front of Hudock’s Custard Stand in Quinton Township around 3:30 p.m.
According to New Jersey State Police Trooper Alina Spies, Hash was traveling westbound on Route 49 on a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle when a black Volkswagen Golf turned in front of him near Milemarker 10.
The Volkswagen was traveling eastbound and turned left into a parking lot, Spies said, and Hash struck the passenger-side door of the car.
Upon collision, Hash was ejected from his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and landed on the side of the westbound lane.
Hash was airlifted to the Memorial Hospital of Salem, in Mannington Township, where he was pronounced dead at 5:37 p.m., according to Spies.
Assisting at the scene were Quinton Fire Company, Quinton Ambulance, Lower Alloways Creek EMS, Life Support 7, Medivac 5 and the Salem County Fire Police.
The incident remains under investigation and, according to Spies, there are no charges at this time.
