Salem County Community Forum to Address Opioid Overdose Epidemic

As part of Attorney General Gurbir Grewal’s 21 “County, 21st Century Community Policing Project,” Salem County will host a collaborative forum to address the opioid overdose epidemic and to highlight the opioid overdose response plan.

The forum, scheduled for August 22, is being conducted by the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office, the Salem County Department of Health and Human Services, and the Salem County Sheriff’s Office. Substance abuse, mental health treatment agencies, recovery service agencies, and support groups all will take part in the event.

The goal is to provide information and support to the general public, loved ones, and specifically to those who are struggling with substance abuse issues. The event is free.

The forum will begin at 6 PM at the Salem County Vocational Technical School in Woodstown. Pastor Doug Smith of Sharptown Methodist Church will be the guest speaker.

All are welcome. The information and resources at the event will enable attendees to understand the magnitude of the opioid epidemic and empower them to know where to go for help.
